Oyez! Oyez!

The Shire of Maale Giborim invites the general populace to partake in a most unique event on Monday, the 5th of March, also known as Shushan Purim.

Should the weather be fair, we will assemble at Gan haPa'amon, also known as Liberty Bell Park in the city of Jerusalem for an afternoon of fencing, dancing, feasting and singing.

Beginning at noon, we will start with fencing. Depending on fencer turnout, there may be a practice tournament. In the spirit of the day, we ask that fencers bring the silliest parry they can find, rigid or non-rigid. If you're of the male persuasion and intend to participate in the fencing, you will be required to wear masculine protection. There is also a 5NIS participation fee. In addition, participants must be 16 years of age or older, or accompanied by a parent or guardian.

At 1 of the clock, we will turn to the gentler pursuit of dance, which also has a participation fee of 5NIS.

Having worked ourselves into a most vigorous appetite, at 1:30 we will adjourn to our feast. The meal will observe the rigid rules of Kashrut, and will also be 'wet', meaning there will be spirits available for all those 18 and older (who can show proof). The cost for the feast will be 50NIS per person (family rates are available) and must be paid in advance, no later than the 27th of February. There will be a cancelation penalty.

After our feast, we will retire to a Bardic Circle for song, stories and poetry.

Should the weather be foul, the location will change to an indoor venue and fencing may be canceled.

For questions regarding the event, such as where to send your funds, information regarding our fencing schedule, dance practice and arts and crafts nights, please contact our Shire's Chatelain, Lord Yehoshua ben Yitzchak at info@scaisrael.org.
